It is quite remarkable where we find ourselves right now. But I have an antidote and it is in the form of finding Spring. I have been lucky so far and when I take spring pictures I do have to be careful I don't squeak! it is quite exciting and really that and cat pictures keeps me going!
Living with an introvert has been a very interesting experience as truly they are managing the bestest. Happy and content and well adjusted in this new normal. It's us extroverts that are struggling!!!
I haven't taken up a new hobby in these trying times, I have just done a bit more of what I like. So that is snapping pics on the phone, being in touch with loved ones (near and far), reading and enforcing order in my house :) The last one has been surprisingly easy to do and all participants have cooperated.
I hope you enjoy the pictures and here they are the second half of March : And snowdrops are a thing!
So snowdrops are a thing and there are a few different types! (think that I commented on that last year too and someone that is into snowdrops is called a 'brown knee'. Also think I said that) I was reflecting on the 'brown knee' situation and indeed did get a bit of a brown knee for these pictures
I have a dear friend that loves snowdrops and now I do too. Such a lovely sight that winter is over, finally!@#
There are outcrops in lots of the gardens
They are really quite the complex flower
Delicate in the extreme to look at but clearly not as they are first ones up through the frozen ground! I love the curled leaf behind the flower!
Just 'bobby dazzlers'
And then you see this. This is some kind of comms thing. Louie will know what it is and I will ask him. But anyway, they get battered in the winter and then in the summer and being plastic these do break really easily. So this enterprising person has mended and personalised theirs. Bit halloween but still made me laugh
Louie on a rare 'outside' moment
Feeling these days looking both ways is absolutely essential !
Being out on a sunshine day was just magic
I'm trying to take a picture of this dogwood, it is impossible to photograph. It has bright red twiglets and they really are special. I am afraid you will have to imagine that!
Beam of light!
dry scrabbly grasses
The waterfall is up and running near the old grist mill.
I am just a shadow! I rather liked this and do you think the water on the rock in front looks like a person with a walking stick?
Happy blue and sumac
Ah yes it did do this. Surprise!!!
It really came in
The next morning here we are again with our friend snow! :(
But take heart, it's lovely Isaac
Such a fab sky and branches
Got this guy the other day, which was a treat and boy was he ever singing
A few days and all the snow is gone and
Spring is back on track
I saw this on the pavement and I thought it so sweet!
These are terrific snowdrops and looks like they have red succulents here too.
They weren't deterred by the snow
This is at the back of my house and I'm determined to be outside. It is still bracing though
But what's this!? Tulips are rising!!!
Crocus too
At first just saw a few
Lots of this, empty streets in the day
literally looks like a field of snowdrops
Then I spied all these lovely crocuses, so fantastic and look at the rogue yellow one
These are such a welcome sight
I think that this is a form of snowdrop
Is this an orchid?
These too? or are they mini irises?
Whatever they are, they are stunning
These are as well and such an unusual colour
Maybe these are white bells? Ok I am actually guessing, no clue. Lets just say a breed of snowdrop
These crocuses are getting all the sun they can
I do like it when I see them randomly in a lawn
This is a four lane road normally teaming with traffic
I really like these trees, such interesting shape
So that is the storm then
Just a bit more time to take some more pictures on the way home
I really like the mix of pine needle and flowers
This is a creative thing. I saw one and thought wow that's a weird 'stuck indoors project' for the kids. Then on closer inspection I realised that there is a tap in the tree and this is their version of the maple syrup bucket. Ingenious!!!
It was quite wet on the golf course and the storm was really coming in. So you get stormy skies, shadow of branches and these branches have loads of buds on them. Perfect spring time pic
OH my favorite, a ginkgo leaf and snowdrops!
I am hoping for bumper tulips this year
We have this little fella visit the back door daily. He moves pretty quick but this time I finally got a snap!
Lovely lovely colours of macaroons. They were pretty yummy!
This is 'Super Isaac' the chef ( his apron is his cape) and he did cook tea this night! It was excellent. I was trying hard to have help in the kitchen. You could say that this is a "stuck inside project". I haven't kept to it and so this is encouragement for me to try this again. Although he tells me he has excellent cooking skills :) Does that mean I can't teach him anything further....to be continued
