As we fall into and out of fall, it really is amazing to see the changes. In October the leaves are still on the trees and so vivid in shades. It is my most favorite time and I think October is right up there for the most favorite month. Just all that drama and for us the first inky dark nights and foreshadowing Winter. Out come the woolies and wrapping up, just fab! But there are still flowers, blasting out the most amazing blooms. So still some warmth and sunshine about.
I have been a bit busy and so the photos have taken a little of a back seat but I am still managing when I can to get out and walk and see the little sights about me.
I feel that this October was just radiant and so yellow! We have had mostly mild weather and I think that really affected the colour change we got with the trees. I have really enjoyed them and taking a quick look back at last year at this time, we really have had a glorious show this year.
It's the contrast that really strikes you, the oranging of the trees and dramatic and changing skies
And of course those Halloween touches that are about. But the yellow of the Maples leaves positively glow in the sunlight
Gingko at this time of the year I watch like a hawk, waiting for the drop that they do on the first frost
All the colours in these leaves
Radiant Maple in the front garden
And leave litter every where. The drop of the maples has begun. This is the street outside my house, so I will be raking these in a few weeks time! (In fact I did that just today!!!, the perfect raking day, warm and blue sky, to fool us before the next temperature drop!)
Shiny and wet leaves on the lush green. If I remember correctly it was a bitter cold day that I was out but the rain was just so fab on the leaves, I just had to go out. You can tell it doesn't rain that much as I actually quite enjoy those days!
It just never ceases to amaze me the leaf change
and that the colours are so uniform on some trees
Bright berries
and pomp pomps. I tried to take this sweet gum picture but it was a windy day and so it's hard to capture
Moon and skittering clouds and cold in Elora this night. Don't often see the moon like this
They have these light up situations about the town in Elora and they are pretty impressive
Perched on all types of buildings. I was pleased to see them lit for Halloween festivities
Milk weed and sunshine illuminating silken threads...
They really are rather splendid. They look like silk petals
It really is the month for fungi
The variety is what is surprising. They are perfectly formed too
Stratford and leaf fall, such a change in a few weeks
I love the shadows on the street, after the rain has passed. It looks like clouds on the road, definitely a favorite picture
Yup there is a house under all that vegetations
And for the show of chrysanthemums! I mean this is October!
These are planted in a verge outside a house
Just hanging out being splendid
Staggering
And Chrysanthemums just being marvelous decorated with droplets
Oh and droopy sunflower, poor thing is not quite feeling it
The reward for being out after the rain, a fab rainbow
These pods I thought were rather good, highlighted by being rained on
Daisys are a thing this time of the year too
Even the pine needles get in the fall thing. I find it amazing and there is so much of them, like carpets!
Ooh evening time
This also seemed to be the time to dump the loo....not the first abandoned one by the kerb that I saw
I hope my Virginia creeper looks like this next year.
But what's this? Buds....yup magnolia and it's just getting ready for winter?
I thought that this was a lovely delicate flower for this time of year. Surviving the wind and rain...
Someone planted pumpkins and they were super cute
Ooh deepest orange
This was a splendid crop of Milk Weed
Sunset glory
and yet more mushrooms
And that is another loo!
and a sleeping raccoon!!! They are back and seem to have been sleeping off something on my balcony
Time to go friend
They slink away
Not before doing the 'raccoon stare'. They have been back since and are so enormous they almost got stuck !!!! Think they must be fattening up for winter
This bee is mid gathering and just stayed there. It was a cold day and I thought oops, dead bee :( but no he was moving
and back again on another day and he is still hard at it
I like this street's trees and they are so many different colours in the carpet that they make.
I have looked and looked and just can't find identify the tree.
And wowee mushroom madness simply everywhere
They literally popped up overnight
I thought that these looked like shells, limpets maybe
These just look so established but they last a couple of days
I liked this photo it, sums up October beautifully, all the colours and mad mushrooms
These little yellow leaves are like yellow dusting
Just glorious
We have to drink in the colour, because soon they will be all on the floor
Loved these regimented pumpkins and barn apex
Who doesn't love a characterful gate and some splashes of colour!
