September breezes

And so Autumn/Fall is beginning but not just yet. We are having some what of an Indian Summer. So I almost feel like I have two summers, one in the Isle of Man and one here. I also realised that I'm not taking a whole heap of photos. So we will see what gems I did manage to capture as September breezed in and we started to think about the coming months. Right now the season of plenty

I love how the early morning light catches things, windows, telegraph wires. Just something hopeful, dawning day and all that jazz

and trolling around Waterloo in the morning is always fun and seeing sunflowers bursting everywhere in various stages and these are a delicate lemon

Sunflowers are just so darn cheery!

Near by is this lovely old farm house. A bit of a fav, the colour of the brick is beautiful and just so subtle.

The light in the street that morning had a slight haze and it was just so still and green!

Love those water droplets of dew on grass

Thistles doing their thing and they really are motion captured, with the seeds getting ready to fly

Bella has again caught that toy! Poor thing gets 'caught' on a regular basis

But the hanging baskets are still blooming in Southern Ontario. Autumn is just a suggestion at this point

Grapes ready for the plucking. (These were actually on a wire fence of a derelict site. But we can pretend that this is Provence Darling!!!!)

I really loved seeing the sunflowers. They are simply magnificent

The edges of this beauty are turning. This is what I love about fall it is a season of graduation, the colour change is patches and edges and slowly it covers the foliage.

Of course berries too, they are everywhere, so many happy birds

Underneath that green, is a house and next month it will be red!

Makes me think of adventure, or Westerns!

But still I keep finding sunflowers

and colours

You have to enlarge this one, it is the colourful post truck. I love it but I have never managed to get that photo of it still! So we have to be content with the back door

Oh the grasses, they are wonderful and floaty at this time of year and look at that sky

The gang, as I like to call them! Spot the fall foliage in the back centre too, just perfect

Hosta is not ready to go just yet

More berries, wow

Birdy at the feeder

Oh ho, what's that! Time to move the branches away, Mr Chipmuck has found a way to delicately balance and eat the seed

That's right Finchy, you may look like that! But you should have shooed him away!

We wait all year to see if the giant Hibiscus has made it another year...it was moved and since then has been sulking. But hey presto, still alive. He shows up late and then doesn't stick around!

Oh Sumac, my old pal. Love this stuff, what a dramatic colour and the leaves are just turning their flaming red

Now that's a straight track

It sometimes looks like the leaves have been stray painted at this time of year. It is sort of incongruous, and they just don't look real. But this is fall starting

Fab light on these thistle heads

Cool and calm in the forest

But yet more blooms!!! It has been so warm into fall that flowers just keep on keeping on

But we are getting some leaves and wet too. Love the beading of the water on the leaves, perfect globes of water

Oh those wavy grasses again

and a country road

And the trees over the bridge just beginning their autumnal performance in Stratford

Very high water after a month of rain in a day

More evidence of that months rain in a day

It is amazing how a patch of weeds has so much variety

and the beauteous Ginkgo and those fall colours on the edges of the leaves

Fab fungi

This looks like a cam shell on the tree. Or maybe a mouth!

Nice display of birdhouses, love that glass

Oh and conkers!!! just lovely. don't get to see many as those squirrels get them all but when I do they always make me happy. They are just so perfect

I get the ladybird, but screaming boy?! Not so much. Maybe they are thinking about Winter

Look at the tree! it was positively radiant in yellow on a pure blue back drop

This is like a picture post card

Mmm and so we have some neighbors

Yes I can see you

On the balcony!

One decided to go.. yes that's right more than one hanging out here

Bit of a scratch

Looking back through the balcony glass edge and yes that raccoon did fit through that tiny gap. Turns out they are all fluff

Just wow

And then one last forlorn look.....but you know they will be back

Have I said how much I love sumac! Every hue here

and delicate dried seeds

Loved the shape of this and the light behind

This tree was radiant against the white house

Now we're cooking

Just bam!

Flame bushes are aptly named

As the season progresses it is a riot

Just something rather lovely about this, the light on the strands and the shadows on the pavement, stretching out

Another one of those houses with the creeper, just turning in the morning light

The beginning of the day and all is quiet save the light in the distance

Sunflowers are ready

This one has had enough, but still so lovely, those green petals...and of course this is now a wonderful source of food

My goodness fox gloves

Out in the country

Harvest time

Even manage to get a red barn ...

Soring over a field of corn and look at that sky

Well it turns out I had more pictures than I thought I had. Hope you have enjoyed looking at Southern Ontario in September...
