Hope Springs Eternal

Spring has arrived and it is totally wonderful! OK I know that sounds super enthusiastic but it is true. The winter was hard here and we are grateful for it having gone!!!! So I am making the most of Spring and it would appear that nature is cooperating. But more of that later. First the Easter Weekend......

The weekend of Easter was busy for us with Louie in a dance competition in New Jersey and then Easter Sunday and the hunt the next day....wow can't believe that we managed it. Louie did well at competition. How can I say, that was....scary, really scary and that was just the other dance teams! It is a something to behold and I am glad that our studio concentrates on the more serious side of dance. Lets just say there was far more skin on show and grinning like looneys than I like!!! But Louie had a blast and enjoyed it thoroughly and that at the end of the day is what it is all about. He had worked hard and performed a duo tap and group ballet and two group lyrical dances.......a long day.
Just waiting around is a lot of it and then getting a costume change and make up!

Once that day was on it was early bed and rest because the next day we had to find that choc in the Easter Egg hunt and thanks to willing family the boys had choc from England. It really wouldn't be the same without that and for whatever reason (Julie take note) Pennsylvania doesn't get English Choc...well one small shop doesn't count and even then it is dicey. For Julie in Florida she can even get Manx Cheese! and Cadburys!!!! Agh what is fair about that!!!!! But we manged this year with supplies flown in and the boys enjoyed this years hunt. We have had to make it harder..

One child ready and waiting and we are off

Second child is quite nonchalant and we made him work for the choc.

Help from the Ref

Number One son pondering...there is more of this
whilst Louie is literally off and running

Poor Isaac was made to scrabble about for his clues and Louie has reached the end

Isaac still clue hunting

Pondering......

The stash Louie collected

Isaac man of action is off and gets the final clue

Happy 3!

Now to the victors and the spoils!!!!!

Agh Ha my hearties! I have the choc

Spring is when every thing comes alive again and this Spring I have been busy keeping up with birds dropping in and so many things to photo. This bird I spotted on the pool cover having a wash. It did go and rest in the beech tree and then flew away.

Isaac got this shot for me.

Cardinals are really busy this time of year

And onto our resident American Robin, nesting in our holly trees at by our front steps.

I even managed to get a pic of the eggs, check out the color!!!!!
While out on my walk on a blustery day I captured these shots. Kite in a tree and then the balloons.....I half expected to see Mary Poppins flying by.

I love this picture from one of the walks, just the red white and blue!

This is an image that caught my eye on the way home from my walk one day and the shadow on the barn of the tree I thought was totally cool.

Spring is springing and this is a Magnolia and below a weeping cherry in Marshal Square park, just spectacular

Just love cherry blossom

Now this is Beech Tree, bark removed and then sealed and amazingly we have some new growth. Now she isn't healed and we have a long way to go but for a tree that is 150 years old, I am pleased and surprised that she can have such new growth were previously there was none! I hope she does well this year. This is the color so far. So beautiful.

seeing that lawn mower there, it really gives some perspective...the Beech Tree is huge!!!! In fact I think that the tippy top edges at the side are not caught in the pic. Wow. Louie said on google earth that the tree is bigger than our house.

Last week Isaac had his Spring activity too which was his school taking part in a Underwater Robotic Competition at Drexel University in the City. This had been something that Isaac's school team had been working on from October and due the horrible weather they missed a month of meetings. So for them to do well at the competition was all the more sweeter. They won the "Against All Odds Prize" as they had had so much to deal with getting there. It was great that it turned out so well!

Oh and last but not least the new addition to the house, Daisy the cow. If you ever wondered what things I pick up from the Exchange, this is an example...couldn't live without her! Louie thought that we should share this.
