So This is Christmas. I know it seems a life time ago but actually it happen less than a month ago! Amazing. But for more reasons than I care to put here, somehow I have not got round to posting and so here it goes, try and imagine the fun before Christmas and the 'getting ready' feeling. No! not the panicking one, the cosy fun feeling and the magic and wonder of the event. Ok scene is set and this is part of my families tradition. Now down to two people being involved but never the less it all begins with the tree! Of course posh car doesn't get to carry the tree, bit mini does and this is the tree. Doesn't look that big does it! It looked massive at the tree farm and I think Damian tricked me into buying the first one we saw, with deft movements and general fast talk and "what about this one and oh this looks just right". Any way no bother, as it was perfect.
Still not that big but as the boys took off the netting... and the top spike..more of that later
It exploded into fat tree!
But it did look good once finished
and I got to hang my blessed mercury glass that I obsessed with this year!
So for us the holidays sort of kicked off with that and we had quite a mild pre Christmas. The most amazing moons! This is first thing in the morning!
But we did have some cold!
One of the things I vowed to do this year was get to Longwood gardens (before it got busy) and take photos
I'm quite pleased with how they came out. Loving the reflections
Even the Italian sunken garden, that normally has water fountains, looked magical
This tree was stunning. Just think of all the thousands of lights
They had fantastic fire pits. So cheery
Multi lighted trees
And general festiveness
The orchids were as ever stunning in the green houses
But this tree decorated by children from a local school is hysterical
Think that's a tad over the top and 'just sayin' I wouldn't want to be the person decorating or undecorating that cactus!
Some of the aspects of Longwood that grab me the most are the incidental aspects and this lighting is just beautiful and always draws my eye
But the trees and those twinkling lights are just mesmerizing
But look at him. now that's what I call fantastic! I think he could be looking at me.
So finally, Christmas morning and I have stumped, sorry Father Christmas has momentarily stumped Isaac and he is opening his stocking and has a puzzle......it didn't take him long....
So many dressing gown shots...what can I say, the boy likes a dressing gown and he is so excited!
But what's this a toy spy! No the cat was being super sneaky, he knows he shouldn't be in my room and look he's hiding with the toys!!!!
Ah Santa Lucy has arrived!!!!! Now look through the doors and you will see the tree and look at the top there is an angel and now see the spike of tree she is on! That spike of tree cost $10 !!!!! Just wanted to record that for posterity. Lucy said I should have snipped it! Well as pointed out in the previous sentences....it cost quite a bit. But poor angel did have quite the indignity. Next year we won't do that...well definitely cut it:)
It seems like a hug
No he's balancing on a present. Which apparently works your core
Isaac clearly doesn't need it...oh my the tree is silly from this angle and look at the angel
Seriously a cool dude!
Now that's what I call a happy Christmas smile
Hello Mr Fozard....I didn't put the other pictures up out of kindness!
Christmas house
and the evening sky on Christmas evening. We all needed some air.....
And into the New Year and it's 2017!!!!!
Can you guess! Yes it's the Birthday and he is 15! I loved this picture of all of them. I could have shown cake and bunting. But this is just all of that in his smile. Happy Birthday Louie!
Seriously! You don't fit in the box and what's more, I can actually see you!
The most bizarre and foggy mornings for waiting for the school bus in the new year
And then evenings like this. I had to pull over for this one and look there are geese in the very distance.
Mornings are quite the drag...
But look at the mauve early light
The park was magical after the brief snow we had
The house looks so cosy
and this lane hasn't been touched.
I love in winter the things that remain and these leaves and berries show that it all continues even though it is winter
It looks like a hat of snow
I really liked the out lines of the trees with the bottom frame of fence
Pretty cool
The house looks so jolly and the colors we used just morph so much with the light of the different times of the day
This is the reflection of the morning sun in a building down the road. Just wow.
Happy New Year to you all !!! Lets see what photos I can find this year.
