April

So we are halfway through April and the world as we know it is unrecognizable. If I knew what to do, I would do it and so in the face of not having any clue and really just blundering along and trying to make sure that I wash every day, I take my trusty phone camera and try and record what I see around me.

I am not alone in my apathy and now is so beyond anything that any of us were prepared for. In order to have some kind of normal I offer this blog for the first part of the month. This last few weeks feels like months anyway and maybe your time clock is off too. Being stuck indoors with no motivation can do that to a person.

In the past not going out for days on end and maybe forgetting to wash was seen as a slippery slope. Now that's normal life for everyone, everywhere.

But Spring waits for no man and springtime in Canada is a full on treat fest. The last couple of days we have felt like we're living in a snow globe! Shaken maybe just a little too hard

Interiors are taking on so much more meaning and I have very much enjoyed sunshine and light moving round my house. The shadows cast from the intricate windows are pretty cool

Bella of course is too busy looking at outside.
Being a master of the social distance thing and staying home

But when sunshine comes, wow is it impressive

On one of our walks we saw the last snow! yes the murky pile in the parking lot

This could be the photo of the pandemic. The glorious bog roll

I love Bella being such a refined girl washing!
So much to see in this, the reflection on the floor.
Showing that it is a blue sky day, even though we can't quite see that and the silhouette of those cats!

Too sweet

As for crocuses, they are everywhere

Spectacular

Queues are now a thing! Although in this queue there was a push in! as I got to the front of the line. Too funny really

Then I found these

Really bright and sunny colour

So delicate

I don't think I have ever seen these before and I have now decided that they must be mini irises

Blue snowdrops!

The snowdrop display continues

I noticed that these ones have little stripes on the stems.

This lady has been growing her snow drops for 10 years. Yes I was spied practically lieing on the pavement. But as we have no one to talk to she was happy to speak with me. Although frankly she couldn't miss me in my bright organge puffy coat!

See what I mean about crocuses

Just lovely. So lively on the old autumn leaves

Oh and the interior dwellers

Not a radio personality but Mr Dames on a call

This is just the most beautiful colour blue

deserted streets are the norm now

and quiet nights

Does anyone understand cats. She has all that space and she is tucked into the most smallest of cat made spaces?!

Spring time is blue!

Just so much blue flowers everywhere

Stripey fancy circuses

The light really showing off these guys

Can't beleieve those perfect stripes

oh and easter sneaks in and people put plastic eggs in trees?

A mixture of blue and white decorated this pavement side

Got to be irises

The show of crocuses

Is staggering

and in fact all the flowers are a riot.

There are lawns just full of them. It occurs to me this time last year there was snow and ice on the ground still

and just like that the snow rolls in

blanketing everything includeing the tuplip leaves

like a magic dusting

I love these blossoms on this birch tree

These are early tulips

I also find these Helleborus. Just lovely and almost miss them. Since when can red be also green?

At last some cheery daffodils. In my favorite patch of daffs up the street

Crocuses are still with us and these have stripey leaves! I love the hint of purple at the base of the flowers

I nearly weed myself when I saw primroses. Think that they are so assosciated with home! and here they are in Canada land

Fancy pants tulips

Funny how often you see a crocus with a petal like this.

This is what happens in the middle of preparing tea, a cat flops in the most inconvient place ever! Although she does look like shes been dropped from great height.

The obligatory April showers

Who knew that rain drops were so round. That has to be a perfect O

This looks like it has been decorated with OOOO

As for this sedum the perfect spot to get water droplets. That top one is just wonderful

Poor daffodil

They really do melancholy so well

Literally droopy. But lovely in the rain to see a bright flower, even if it's bowing it's head

Such interesting flowers

Complex in structure and not going to bow!

Nice mix of purple and white wild violets

Ok so confinement has sent me crazy and in a bid to get good pics I have taken to stalking plants and flowers especially. These mini daffs are a favorite.

This is lovely golden light in the morning

I really loved the crocuses in the moss

Just too exciting for words! Magnolias

I will be back to see these beauties in full flower

two peas in a pod

and snap!

Maple blossom is so bright and red! I never knew that

Ok worn out and time to stop. Apologies for cat pics. But come on, they're cute! How could anyone object......
