I'm not sure how to break this to you but someone stole May! Ok maybe that is too strong but what happened. One minute I am madly remembering all the birthdays that I have in my family in May and poof they have been and gone and we are head long into June. Now I don't have a whole lot to share for May, even though it passed in a blur. But I did find these photos and with Isaac's 16th fast approaching ie Thursday and we are on Tuesday and Louie's Dance Recital Saturday, I thought that those two occasions would generate quite a few photos!! So here is the May offering and I hope you enjoy.
This is a double tree in Wintertur gardens, I thought that this was amazing. Two different trees planted so close together........wow
A close up of a lovely plant in the same said garden
And the Azaleas were coming out and were a lovely spot of colour
I loved Rhododendrons and this is a beauty
This seems such an idyllic scene in those gardens and below is the sundial garden at Wintertur
Oh yes Spirit week. I didn't get all the days outfits but here are some. This is Western Wednesday! Ye haw!
This is Thrift Thursday
This is wear your year group colour and this is pink for 10th grade and yellow for 6th
Preparations for the wet morning before heading off to school
That would be Damian up a tree! In fact the Beech Tree that we were doing some work on. This is an on going tree nursing project and this was the only way we could get to the spot. (Do you like the use of the 'we')
Even fantastic tree men get tired!
But how could you not want to work on preserving this fantastic tree! Beautiful
Our Dogwood was also in bloom in May and looked so amazing.
Just to give some scale of how huge the beech is...........
The Robins
One of the things this spring has been the story of our Robin. The eggs were laid and the babies hatched and they were so cute!
The parents were so attentive and the best parents ever....
Then the crow attacked the nest. I was so upset and thought that they had had it. There was still babies in the nest when I scared the crow away....but looking down on the ground was one of the babies.....we knew to leave well alone and see what nature did. We should have had more faith in these wonderful Robin parents. We spotted them herding the babies and they all left the nest and found a new safe place to finish their growing....phewee.............no death on the porch!
Stuff from the Exchange
Now you know I work at the Woman's Exchange and I am always picking up the best stuff. So here is some of the super things I have recently found................
This fantastic fisherman mobile is just totally brilliant. Working on a pendulum idea and he just swings and fishes. Just totally cool and I love it!
This fella is a Tobacco jar, English Bull Dog with a smoking jacket (that's the give away...took me some research to find out about him) this is a Majolica finish and he is designed to look old...Victorian. Think Sherlock Holmes at Baker Street. He is just vintage and not antique and so totally weird he had to come home with me :)
This is not from the Exchange but jolly well would not be out of place there. My wonderful friend Joanne lent me the $6 to buy this beauty (yes I am paying you back when I see you this week, honest). She was super duper and did research on him and he is a Peace Pigeon. He is made in Spain and love him!!! he was bought at the community yard sale this past weekend. Now he lives on the kitchen wall.
along with all the other goodies mostly from the Exchange over the years!
This last one is a painting abstract from the Exchange and the funny angle is because he is hanging on the stair case. It is a wonderful metallic picture and so 70's another complete keeper at $18 it HAD to come home to my house. I did replace the mat and frame but well worth it.
Yes I do love this stuff :)
Think of me this crazy week, 16th birthday lovely in-laws coming to stay and recital....that is a lot to do and with that in mind, when my dear friend Linda from the Woman's Exchange invited me for a mini break to Ocean City, I lept at the chance and so here is my breath of fresh air to help me..be ready..it was so beautiful.
