"Hope is the thing with feathers
that perches in the soul
and sings the tunes without words-
and never stops at all"
If that is too deep there is always Dorey and "just keep swimming" we all do what we can and so this Thanksgiving and general reflection of Novemeberness, love to everyone everywhere and lets be happy for having trees.
Early morning at the bus stop and this is before the clocks have changed
Now you might not recognize this friend but it is my favorite horse chestnut tree....knarly and devoid of colour and leaves. Still love him though...
Bam! This really is a riot of colour and as the sun hits these leaves they are just spectacular and oh so bright. It is really hard to not notice this spectacle and you can imagine driving through countryside with trees doing their thing...totally distracting and of course just wonderful
and onto this..First Friday in West Chester at the Woman's Exchange and my drummer is there
we then persuaded him to do some tapping
He really let rip and improv king rules
He gets lots of tips ! He really is brilliant to do this and not forgetting way in the background my other helper manning the desk! That's what I call a great double act.
Back to trees. I've probably said a lot about trees and variety but this is Ginkgo and wow they really do a great show. Just brightest bright yellow.
This tree lined street was pretty cool
and of course the brightest one is the Ginkgo and here are some of the leaves it had lost already
Think that this is a Maple and I manged to get the car window down at this intersection and take this snap. Again they have cut branches from the power lines
Just wow
This is an early morning shot of the park
and rainy West Chester still bright
I love how these leaves look on the asphalt..I took ages arranging them!
This was taken on my way to the gym one morning....I love it. Think the guy behind me walking his dog thought I was crazy practically lying on the pavement but worth it
and this is what happens to Ginkgo's after a frost or dip in temps...it's like a shadow of the tree made in leaves...really cool and they all come off at once.
I decided to take the boys on a walk last Sunday and the sky was amazing
We also saw a grasshopper
The trees just finishing their colours
Again more amazing sky
and down below the colours and nature just doing it's thing, on this covered fence
I think that what I like best is the black trunks and branches with the leaves glowing
even fur trees change colour
This made me laugh. Where we were walking they have benches...of course and the boys had to sit down. They look like two old men
These two panoramas show this landscape really well, they are actually the same scene next to each other, if you can imagine that
and this is a close up
the birds took off
I love this picture
and this one. The leaves hanging on and the green field behind
all those mottled colours and the sky just bluest blue
So with the success of the first walk..I took them to Longwood on Election Day. That's what you do when you can't vote. This fir tree at the entrance caught me and its "fruit"
They really were deep in conversation and oh where's Mum?
But again, they find benches and I did actually tell them to sit opposite each other. Otherwise they would have been tucked next to each other looking like Siamese twins
A smiley Isaac....
Mr Pitcher plant
The lake...so peaceful
More discussion
The colour of these Bald Cypress is impressive
These tulip trees at Longwood are truly tall
and another bench...
the meadow was just glorious
it was actually quite warm..as we trekked
then I spied this plant
But this is my all time favorite one...wow
This is a really cool plant. No idea what it is but it produces this fluffy seedy stuff. Just great
I thought this vapor trail was cool or is a smoke signal?
The sun was starting to go down
One last forest shot
And today the sun is out and off I went to quickly capture these colours. This tree is directly outside the house. The nuts from it bomb me and Louie every morning ..or is it's squirrel inhabitants! Whatever it is lovely and all is forgiven
The park was looking lovely
The Ginkgo was being spectacular
And our solider has seen it all.....
The colour of this Maple is hard to credit it as real
As for this tree and it's dried pods, just wow
This tree just had light streaming through it
Another Ginkgo and I know I will miss all these guys loosing their leaves...it will be amazing and the streets will literally turn yellow
another Japanese Maple
I like the light bouncing on the leaves
But this is next....you know what I'm talking about and it starts with a C!
Miranda you did it again and you did make me feel good and happy! Ginkgo is always my favorite and I even love all the leaves puddling under the tree at the end! Thank you for sharing!
