Christmas....is it over yet?

I'm feeling that on this 1st of the year I should get this blog out and you can see what we have been about this festive season. Coming so quickly on the heels of the house tour and all of that drama, house guests arrived in the form of Brian and Kay (my in laws) on the 10th December, it all sort of kicked the Christmas spirit off early. So we had a big lead up and now having reached the New Year, it seems to have been a blur. I definitely reached the stage of not knowing what day of the week it is some time ago!~ We still have family with us as Louie turns 14 today and so we have more festivities to continue with. I think when all this is over, I'll need a holiday. But the good thing is, that they all seem to have had a good time. Which really is what it is all about.

Lovely Christmas spirit

I really like these shots...maybe they could be cards? now there's an idea

Satsumas that we found at a supermarket a few days before Christmas and wow was I excited. They really are the taste of Christmas for us in the UK and IOM

That and a mince pie! yes indeedy

I know this is blurred but this is Christmas Eve and we had dense fog! It was so erie

This is the statue in the park! wow the fog really was amazing and I think the light bounced off the clouds to give this effect. This was taken on my mobile phone

So eventually we say, 'yes get your stocking' and so another tradition comes to life on Christmas morning, opening the stockings whilst in bed. The best!

My favorite thing that Father Christmas left for Louie

Sometimes FC leaves vegetables in the stockings and Isaac got an onion!

Luckily Damian got a satsuma...very luck and very rarely seen in West Chester.

He also got in his stocking a character from a pixar film we loved! Sadness....Damian does a very good impression of this character

Languid youth at its best!

Now that's what I'm talking about...Isaac's main present was this really superb coat and boy did he suit it...phewee (our first year without lego...it was scary but luckily we struck a home run and he loved the coat!!!)

Yup pretty fab

The crowd for Christmas...

The coat had a walk.

Christmas has many surprises and surprise hug attack, is what I found one day

Now here is Miss Bella and Sir Archie waiting for games night. That is what New Years was going to be for us....I love how Bella is sitting..

This is the Christmas Quiz....what is this used for ? Made 1913

I found this in the exchange on Thursday...New Years Eve when I was working....I'll divulge the answer at the end of the blog!

New Years Eve here is now tradition for us to watch BBC and London. We get to watch it with all our family at home on the Island and UK

But it is quite a relaxed affair

But I'll tell you what they don't half put on a show!

For some reason Isaac was hat posing

That's a bit more like it...adventurer Man

I'm 14....really that means it's January 1st already

Oh and Daddy has a drum kit

Alright Louie! does

Now Damian got this camera for me for Christmas. It is properly scary, so I had my New Years walk with it.....just to test it out

Now this is creepy....I can see my hand in the reflection, I didn't notice that. That is the joy of needing reading glasses! so now on my walk I'll need a wheelie suitcase for all the kit, mobile phone, camera and lenses and glasses!!!!

and in this one too but the tree reflected is the best

Spring buds

And spooky hands

Cris cross lattice. I love the lines and bricks

Holly looking lovely

More birthdaying

Something mine craft

Wonderful puppet

He really loves the cards and reads every one

Now onto bread making

It was Goooood!!!!
Then more playing

Louie's friend came round

we ate food

did the obligatory cake thing

Isaac wondered if he would have the ever lighting candles....but Louie managed these well and they blew out

For some reason Isaac started to inject some drama in the proceedings

and adventure man once again entertained us

Really a wonderful birthday and enjoyed by all...especially Louie

But that cake I made, was pretty good!!! just sayin'

Now did you guess the mystery item....? It was a holder for a can of condensed milk! It would have had a saucer and lid too. I just can't believe the things that people made and in this case for a tin can! Hope you enjoyed this extra long blog and love to you all and wishing you and yours all the very best for the New Year!!!!
