Well the title is a little misleading and I am a day late...tech problems but I have a couple of super fantastic moon pictures as the eclipse began. It really was brilliant and that is all down to Lucy sending a text telling me to 'get outside'. I am so pleased I did and I dragged the boys with me. The trees in the garden screened the moon, so we went to the parking lot behind my house. Only trouble is that I am pretty sure that a guy in the apartments that over look the lot, might have thought we were spy's or something!
But here is the moon!!!!
This is the beginning and I just was blown away with how this looked....it's like smokey inky black is going across the moon
Managed to get the moon to be even bigger in this one
It actually happened really quickly
Between these two you can really see the progression
When I looked , it was just the most amazingly 3 d thing and I haven't managed to get that at all and it was like the black was something, not just lack of light ....really ethereal..I had to give up, fighting the camera not focusing and the cloud washing over the sky
Now on the face of this it is a completely rubbish shot. But this is when the eclipse is nearly over and the cloud is covering the moon BUT you can see the sphere and the last bit of moon being the white glow.....pretty something!!!!
a quick look at right now in West Chester.....every day it is changing this season
I'm so pleased I have taken this picture as I know in a couple of the days this hydrangea will again have darkened and reddened. It is a spectacular set of bushes at the Barclay Grounds and even more special, as they wanted to build houses here and didn't and they most certainly would have got rid of plant and gate!
They are amazing far away and close up too, the variation in colour on the flower from green to pink is beautiful and as I was staring at this bush and hedge in general...I noticed
These berries, quite sure they are not edible but the colour range is just spectacular...I mean look at the turquoise one in the back!!!!
This is a favorite spot to look at the progression of a wisteria shrub that is completely taking this railing on. They have trimmed it back and you can see how gnarled it is...
Out of this piece they cut an iron bar! Look at how ingrained it was into the structure of the branch.
This is superficially boring photo..but actually it is the beginning of the Ginkos changing the colour and they go a spectacular yellow. We have a lot of Ginkos in the borough and although I photo them every year, maybe this year I'll get some prefect shots.
And a rare fruiting Ginko
Fall is coming and colours are beginning
So watch this space....
Wish I had known about the eclipse- it looks spectacular! Next best thing than seeing it with my own eyes! Thanks for the look!
