Flowers and Horses

Today was the most lovely day, I managed to take Kay, Brian and Lucy to Longwood. It was a hot and humid day. I didn't have high hopes and of course all of us weren't feeling well. But the affect of those beautiful gardens made us all a little lighter. I have a million pictures and hope I have captured the day!
My newly planted Irises don't quite look as good as this!

The combination of yellow and purple was just stunning

This was something that I spied, so pretty!!!
The Wisteria was just finishing but wow!

It certainly knows how to grip!

The beds were just being planted up outside and these just were so vibrant

These plants formed a circle around a path around a small fountain and it was a riot of flowers and colour and just the most delightful sight

This little friend came out too! Love Mr Cardinal and he looks so quizzical
Tulip Trees are totally cool but when they flower because they are so tall it is really hard to get the blooms.

 This is in the conservatory

Getting ready for the water lilies! by the weekend they said

These Gardenias were so fragrant and so beautiful. There was a lady standing close to them remembering her Prom! She was pretty old! amazing how smell takes you right back and for her, to a really happy place. It was sweet.

The cactus room is my all time fav at Longwood and these cactus are so varied. The one below ready to bloom in the next week...........I will be back for that!

Forgive me Lucy and Nana had to include this you look so sweet!
Nana knew that these were Canterbury Bells!
The Princess Tree (an obvious favourite of mine) is just in flower and so pretty.
The topiary gardens and statue look great and just in front at the top is a little bit of Princess Tree........my favorite photo of the day
The line of Beech Trees is so spectacular
 Rare footage of an Isaac
 In action on Diggs
Isaac is a beautiful rider and this horse he rides loves him and it shows!

 Jumping sequence! phewee made it!!!!!!!!

And now for home...............

Thanks for a great day. Mx
