April Spring

So this was the begining of April. In the in like a lion and lamb situation, felt this was more like a saber tooth ! It was a day that gave snow, then ice and ended with rain. 

I loved the post van 'eyes"

This was the end of the day, and it was several inches of slush to wade through and deep pools of freezing rain water. The twigs and every surface had a thorough glazing 

We escaped West and from the plane saw this amazing mountain as we came into land

With blue skies and water like a mirror. We had sunshine and this time we got sun screen. These hibernated bodies can't take 4 minutes in the sunshine. 

Here it was full bloom ahead

and daffodils

The working boats looking spidery with their equipment 

These are crab pots! Talk about industrial 

But these waters and time here was a lovely spring wake up

back to see the sunset

And what the heck is that! Yup more of this stuff

The glove seemed to be pointing the way

But our flowers are immerging

as well as getting some April showers and not snow, thank goodness

another remnant of  winter

We certainly love to see those flowers and these crocus were basking in the sun shine

This tree stump making a perfect spot for this lush moss to grow. It is sooo green. 

The 'wedding' magnolia. It is actually a Star Magnolia

My favorite picture of all, daffs in the pine needles

an early evening walk and the recently flowering Maple is glowing in the street light

This is a favorite tree of mine in the neighborhood. With it's pom pom ends of it's branches

suddenly there are blooms everywhere

even the hellebore is head up

The magnolias this year have been spectacular

Different types and thankfully not battered by rain or s!

I call this 'weeping beauti'

And ones with a green lovely stripe

Brr Winter

 For us winter really gets going in February and we remain that way for several more months, hard to believe when other places are considering cutting the grass !

The ice this year was something else!

It's pretty!

The ice on this house was like strange curtains

Snowy walk to work

But it can be dangerous, don't want that ice spike to land on your head!

At night it gives a special glow. Always love that

I thought that the ice through the metal balcony was like teeth

Look at the length of that icicle in the centre of the picture 

It was everywhere

Like an ice fountain

All the way along this building and on cables too

Ice pillar kept growing

The garden disappeared

There was some blue sky

Off the upstairs balcony we forgot the table and chairs... looks like we have to wait for spring to retrieve them

Snow removal guy. There was a whole team, for the drive and walkway

In the far corner of the garden I have a small metal bench, it is there just!

We are starting to feel buried in

And still more ice

These houses next to each other have white fringing

Pillar grows at the front door

and icicles on the back of the house too

But the light is changing

and there are buds!!!! Does that mean we will get spring?
