It does seem quite some time ago that we were enjoying the merry go round ride of April. It really had a bit of everything going on. We were sorely missing spring here and April still had many elements of Winter hanging grimly on. But in amongst that there were things to see....in this particularly whiplash educing month
The lovely fresh/ frosty! mornings. Just something about that light seems hopeful
Strange wrapped items in gardens, protecting from the frost. They did look a bit apparition like
No not a picture of a recycling bin, but a woodpecker, just in front of me
snow drops are finally here
and decorations for Easter. By this point even if it is plastic, colour is appreciated
Poor abandoned frosty glove :(
But the light is amazing. Stark and beautiful, the shadows cast are crisp
The frost is just amazing!
But there are colours undeterred
The crows at this time of year seem to be gathering in huge flocks and are super noisy. Certainly a murder!
I am on the hunt to find as many snowdrops as possible

He stayed in front of me for ages
He really wasn't bothered
Just investigating this hole in the tree. And this is taken on the pavement/sidewalk and the tree is planted to the side of that, so literally right in front of me

Just the beginnings of shoots and flowers
and ducks on roofs?

and buds on Maple trees
crocus after the morning dew has landed
and spring finally seems here
Lots and lots of spring flowers
But the snow drops are really the thing for me and they seem to be having a bumper year
More plastic eggs in trees

I know enough already with snow drops, but look at the light on them, they are luminous and sparkling with the water drops!!!
and then it snows!
saw this sad mourning dove outside and it was a cold one that day
Thought this water bath was pretty cool
But before long the snow has receded and crocus are back
These catkins are epic
Magnolias
and wow forsythia
I am walking in the cemetery up the road and spot more log and branch graves! Pretty interesting stuff

Just look at this magnolia. Perfect pink and just devine
But there is more snow. I think I detect a look of disgust on my rabbit. Luckily my forced bulbs are not damaged by this cold weather

Back near home the spring flowers are blooming
and here are the blue snowdrop bluebells!
and a lovely Goldfinch visits. A real pop of colour
and yes snow again
Feels like a fever dream and we are back in Christmas
But soon enough the sun is out and birds are singing.

Robins are busy making nests
Daffs are here !!!! Yeah
This goose is nesting, so I didn't get too close
and how about this fella
Streets are still a little empty
Fresh dusting
But now we have a real head of steam and all the flowers are just coming out
As well as people
Pretty cool train bridge
and now it feels like spring is in full swing
It felt like an age to get here but April is now far behind us and snow has finished. We can get on and enjoy the greening of everything and this year it seems to have happened in the snap of a finger
