November colour

So swinging around the corner and it's the last part of the year, which literally goes in a blur! It always catches me out the one two three punch at the close of the year and I'm talking Halloween, Thanksgiving and then the biggey CHRISTMAS. But lets not get too flappy, we still have time and we can savor some sights that November brings
First things first, the clocks change. So this was one morning at the bus stop, pretty inky and dark!
This was the morning after the clock change! Big difference, oh and a Louie at 6.45am

The ginkgo's are doing their thing and I'm waiting, waiting

For these lovely leaves to fall off.

They are amazing, they turn golden yellow and then on the first big frost, drop off completely overnight all of their leaves

Truly radiant and we will be back to them later

There are other colours about

and Moody night skies

Grasses even are beautiful at this time of the year

so many colours

But the leaves are falling and they are all colours of the Autumn spectrum

The park literally has the proverbial "carpet of leaves"

The streets

But heck a doddle, what's this? It's blossom and it's November. That would be warm

Very warm for cherry blossom

This tree is directly opposite the Woman's Exchange on Church Street and wow it was like a golden beacon one Monday morning. (Remember this shot!!)

Thanksgiving is here and so out comes the decs to nod to the season for a few weeks

Berries abound!
But we're headed for the lights of New York

That is a definite must in NY, coffee!

I thought that this was really clever. Matching name and graffiti

But what's this? A ginkgo in New York and it's not yellow but with temperatures dropping 20 degrees overnight they dropped their leaves and the pavement was covered

I mean no leaves on trees, doesn't that dark tree look like a shadow of the tree in the light.? Nice illusion

and green..........wonder how West Chester fared with that cold snap

But sights to see

Birds lining up to leave

Such a mix of buildings

This is a favorite, as on the right tower block it's a complete reflection! Super cool

But we found Hope in the city and that was brilliant!

Penn Station, where opposite we had the best pizza of my life! and I'm not kidding

As we went along and I was looking at buildings, this stood out to me, colour and wiggly lines

But what's amazing about this is that it's material on the top half and only the bottom is painted. Now that's cool

More city and famous buildings, Macy's and Empire State

And another building with that wrap graffiti! The whole thing on the side is a elaborate wall hanging. It even had holes for the windows

Can't beat a great corner building

Just something about New York

Funny little bit of graffiti, ice cream truck and it's nearly in the lead

But oh no on our return to West Chester the ginkgos did their thing without me. This is the same glorious ginkgo. So from outside the exchange our tree and her leaves on the pavement are like a smugdge of what was once there. But still gold.

Outside my friend Doris's house and I wait for the whole thing to turn gold and drop. Well a mixed bag of yellow and green here

But all those leaves came down in one go!

That's a lot!

But cooler weather and bright skies bring us Plane Trees stark white. Just beautiful

Down by the canal in Wilmington

There is still colour about

and ah Longwood. Talk about green and pleasant

Path that leads us on

although they look ready to scarper

Even when the plants are removed, it is beautiful

I mean, amazing

The light was just perfect

and there was so much colour

The new water feature in winter has all these colonnades and its lovely

That sunshine is just so bright and I had an idea to take our picture!

They have decorated for Christmas at Longwood and wow what a job they have done

Pompoms

Flur de whatsits

Pink poinsettia

Christmas trees galore

But there is just something about the simple scene

Although it is weary making, all this whizzing holidays

But maybe this is the perfect seasons greeting card!

Enjoy the coming festivities!
