May sunsets

It is always amazing to me that people say that so and so has the best sunsets in the world. Or is it rather that all places that get the sunset, will find it as I have, spectacular. I have a selection here and can attest to them all being the "best" sunsets in the world!

We had some traveling about to places known and here are the happy results of not seeing snow any more! Green and sun and water!

Exhibit  A: Spectacular sunset. You have seen this many times but I honestly can say it never gets old

Bit of excitement as they load the logs!

a sweep of blue hill, these bluebells were beautiful and sort of glowed with violet undertones

For all those who don't believe in the mountains over the sea!

Exhibit B: more sunset and smokey grey cloud lid

The sky here is all swishy with clouds and the lovely sea with fab rocks covered in lime green seaweed

The bright yellow field

Woodlands as the train goes by

My train!

Pretty darn special

This takes a closer inspection, on the red sign. Bitter sweet

This cockerel was strutting and avoiding me. I loved the green paint too, on the gate

Fluffy irises and chimney pots

And we wall waited for the little boat to make his safe passage

I laughed out loud seeing this parking speciality

Casual leaning, I have used the same technique myself with my own suitcase!
Just have to make sure that the wheels are  not facing the way of leaning!

No guesses where this is

This is the doorway to Liberty's.
If they had been open I probably wouldn't have noticed it

The curve of the window decor and
the shelf stand inside, in conversation of style

Just wow, !

I love  a good alley way

Absolute splendour

More glorious walk ways

Exhibit C: the greeting on landing Home

Fabulous tulips

Shading tulips

Green streets

Irises and where the wisteria will bloom, along the old wood trellis

Finally Exhibit D: the speciality of this is the ombre colours
and it made me wonder, do we always need to see the "egg" sink into the sea?
It seems to often be like this here. I will continue to monitor the lake and see what it does :)

April Spring

So this was the begining of April. In the in like a lion and lamb situation, felt this was more like a saber tooth ! It was a day that gave snow, then ice and ended with rain.

I loved the post van 'eyes"

This was the end of the day, and it was several inches of slush to wade through and deep pools of freezing rain water. The twigs and every surface had a thorough glazing

We escaped West and from the plane saw this amazing mountain as we came into land

With blue skies and water like a mirror. We had sunshine and this time we got sun screen. These hibernated bodies can't take 4 minutes in the sunshine.

Here it was full bloom ahead

and daffodils

The working boats looking spidery with their equipment

These are crab pots! Talk about industrial

But these waters and time here was a lovely spring wake up

back to see the sunset

And what the heck is that! Yup more of this stuff

The glove seemed to be pointing the way

But our flowers are immerging

as well as getting some April showers and not snow, thank goodness

another remnant of  winter

We certainly love to see those flowers and these crocus were basking in the sun shine

Mini iris

fluffy trees

and lovely days in the forest

This tree stump making a perfect spot for this lush moss to grow. It is sooo green.

The 'wedding' magnolia. It is actually a Star Magnolia

well trimmed forsythia

My favorite picture of all, daffs in the pine needles

an early evening walk and the recently flowering Maple is glowing in the street light

This is a favorite tree of mine in the neighborhood. With it's pom pom ends of it's branches

suddenly there are blooms everywhere

All the faces of the daffs

even the hellebore is head up

The magnolias this year have been spectacular

Different types and thankfully not battered by rain or s!

I call this 'weeping beauti'

Fancy tulips

And ones with a green lovely stripe

Happy Spring!!!!!!
